About

I’ve never been one for self-promotion, but I do feel it important to at least introduce myself. My name is Brandon Wheeler, and I have been working in various forms of visual and commercial arts for the better part of 20 years. I learned photography on film, typesetting on dry transfers, and illustration with a pencil. I spent most of my career as a graphic designer for a recording company and booking agency, and then as a designer, videographer, and editor for a public access television station. Through those positions, I learned a great deal about what makes good design, as well as what will satisfy both the client and the artist. I also spent most of that time as a professional musician, often touring regionally with my band. I learned through that process what bands want, and how to help them represent themselves the way they want to be represented.

Several years ago, I decided it had been too long since I had pursued still photography, and I dove back in head first. Soon I was back to shooting concerts, covering local, regional, and national acts at venues and festivals throughout the region, and being published in multiple local media outlets. I have also been hired by numerous local and regional bands to bring an extra edge or style to their promotional materials or live photography. I do this as a passion, not just a paycheck, and I believe the quality of my work speaks for itself. During a live shoot, I feel it is just as important for me to lock into the music as any member of the band, feeling the ebb and flow of the music to anticipate and capture all the best moments. I work the smallest club stages to the biggest local venues, and always with the aim of making you look like a rock star. Please feel free to contact me; I’d love to hear from you.
